The Wind with live, original music by Blacklight LighthouseLibrary: Washington Ave. Branch Map
The Wind is a 1928 American silent romantic drama directed by Victor Sjöstrom featuring Lillian Gish, Lars Hanson, and Montagu Love. An eloquent coda to its dying medium, The Wind was one of the last silent films released by Metro Goldwyn Mayer. Sjöström was always at his best as a visual poet of natural forces and their dramatic role in controlling human destiny.
Blacklight Lighthouse is a musical duo that work in the collage mode, much like the surrealist’s game of “exquisite corpse”. Their sounds might be described as cinematic soundscapes, experimental, and improvisational using analog and digital instrumentation to perform their live music score to The Wind.
